Biography<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

The author obtained her Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Science Bioindustry, majoring in plant pathology at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). She graduated with first class degree and also awarded \u2018The Best Student Award in Plant Protection, 2003\/2004\u2019 by The Malaysian Plant Protection Society. She began to work as a marketing and technical executive in an agricultural supply company in year 2004 and promoted to marketing and technical manager after two years of her service in that company. With the keen interest and enthusiasm in crop protection especially in plant pathology, she finally enrolled for Doctorate Degree in Institute of Tropical Agriculture (ITA), UPM in July 2008 with the doctorial fellowship from the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT). She started her PhD research in plant pathology, entitled \u2018Development of microbial-fortified rice straw compost for aerobic rice cultivation\u2019. She is currently attached to UMT as a senior lecturer and active in research related to agricultural sciences of rice.<\/span><\/p>\n

Research Interests<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

Extensively application of chemical pesticides in crop production become a major environmental concern, due to residual toxicity, detrimental effects on non-target organisms and resistance development. Recently, plant growth promoting microorganisms (PGRM) has been introduced into modern agricultural system to exert beneficial effects on plant growth, yield and protection in a wide range of crops. PGRM also served as determinants in triggering induced systemic resistance in plant protection system, as well as eliminating deleterious rhizobacteria and fungi. However, the exactly mechanisms involve in plant defense system in relation to PGPM are still limited. The application of Trichoderma<\/em> spp. in promoting plant growth, improving productivity and soil health was evident under rice production system. Further investigation is needed especially on the mechanisms involve in plant growth promotion and plant defense system in association with beneficial microorganism.<\/span><\/p>\n
